Cationic Thickener CT-226

Cationic Thickener CT-226 is a cationic polymer produced by inverse emulsion polymerization. It is compatible with cationic detergents and suitable for fabric softeners or acidic compositions (recommended pH 3.0 - 5.0). It can be added to the formulation at any point of the manufacturing process to provide efficient thickening.

Typical Physical Properties

• Appearance: Light translucent emulsion
• Solids: 45.0 ± 1.0%
• pH: 4.0 ± 1.0
• Viscosity: About 15,000 cps (Brookfield, RVT, #6, 5 rpm)
• Viscosity of 1% aq. solution: About 10,000 cps (Brookfield, RVT, #6, 5 rpm)

Method of Use and Examples

Cationic fabric softener is added to 0.1 – 5.0% cationic thickener CT-226 with gentle agitation to increase product viscosity. The actual dosage should be adjusted to the viscosity requirement of the product. The thickening effect of CT-226 in water is shown as below:
